Archiving - General information
Why are boxes made of solid board generally more advantageous than the ones made of corrugated board?
We will illustrate the suitability of solid board on the possible dangers the archive records in the boxes can be exposed to.
FLOODINGSolid board
Solid board will stay sufficiently stable even being several days under water in case of a water disaster, which allows safe manipulation of its contents.
Corrugated boardCorrugated board will quickly disintegrate, particularly when its contents is heavy. The manipulation is possible only in a limited extent. There is danger that the documents will be irrecoverably damaged or mixed.
FIRESolid board
Solid board provides resistance against fire thanks to its compact character for a certain time.
Corrugated boardCorrugated board causes the so called chimney effect with its inner hollow spaces. The air channels in the board accelerate the fire propagation.
Solid board
HSolid board is very resistant against attack of such pests thanks to its character.
Corrugated boardCorrugated board offers potentially ideal chance to life and reproduction to insects, micro-organisms and moulds in its dark hollow spaces.
As it is obvious, the conclusion is clear: all arguments speak in favour of SOLID BOARD.
